Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Urumqi
Meals: Dinner
Upon your flight landing in Urumqi, our local professional guide and experienced driver will greet you at the airport arrival hall, then escort you to the hotel for rest to adjust to jet lag and recover from the long flight. In the evening, we will host a warm welcome dinner with ethnic minority dance performances. While savoring authentic Xinjiang cuisine, you can get acquainted with fellow travelers, and our guide will also give a detailed introduction to the exciting itinerary for the coming days.

Guests' Privileges:
- Reserved seats near the stage for the dinner, allowing you to watch the song-and-dance performances up close and dance interactively with the performers.
- Disposable amenities kits will be given by the guide upon check-in.
Day 2: Urumqi → S21 Desert Highway → Ulungur Lake → Burqin
Meals: Breakfast
Attractions: Ulungur Lake
After enjoying the buffet breakfast at the hotel, your private guide and driver will be waiting in the hotel lobby. Depart from Urumqi and head north to Burqin, passing through the Gurbantünggüt Desert. In winter, the yellow sand is quietly covered under the snow, turning the desert into a snowfield. In the afternoon, we will visit Ulungur Lake, the second-largest fishery base in Xinjiang. The vast lake surface is completely frozen, like a huge sapphire—you can walk and slide freely on the ice.
After bidding farewell to Ulungur Lake, we will continue to Burqin, known as the "Fairy Tale Border Town". As an important shipping post in Sino-Russian history, Burqin was a hub for Sino-Soviet navigation in the early 20th century. Russian immigrants settled here, forming a cultural community, so many Russian-style buildings have been built nowadays to further highlight this feature. The Kanas Tower Bridge is a reinforced concrete bridge integrating Gothic and European styles, spanning the Colorful River, with a length of 135 meters and a height of 27 meters. Enjoying the night view here is a unique experience.
Day 3: Burqin → Kanas Three Bays Rime → Kanas Lake
Meals: Breakfast
Attractions: Kanas Scenic Area
After breakfast, head to Kanas Scenic Area—known as "the Back Garden of the Gods" and one of China’s Top 10 Most Beautiful Autumn Sceneries, receiving 5 million visitors annually. The scenic area mainly consists of "Three Bays and One Lake". We will stroll along the famous Three Bays (Fairy Bay, Moon Bay, Wolong Bay) and admire the crystal-clear rime spectacle along the riverbanks, as if the whole world has been enchanted.
Kanas Lake is China’s deepest moraine-dammed lake, with a maximum depth of 188.4 meters. The lake water comes from glacial meltwater and local precipitation, shaped like a curved pea pod. There are 6 platforms protruding toward the center of the lake along the coast, and the surrounding area is covered with primeval forests—offering breathtaking scenery. Activities such as horse riding, archery, and wrestling are held irregularly in the scenic area.
In the evening, we will stay in a wooden cabin within the scenic area, where you can fall asleep peacefully to the sound of snow falling outside.
Day 4: Kanas → Hemu
Meals: Breakfast
Attractions: Hemu Village
Bid farewell to Kanas and head to Hemu, known as "the God’s Private Reserve". Tonight, we will stay in a wooden cabin of the Tuva people—the best way to experience the soul of Hemu. In the early morning or evening, open the wooden door to see the snow-covered village with curling smoke rising from chimneys—a classic Northern Xinjiang scene.
The afternoon is free for you to arrange at your own pace. You can enjoy coffee and cakes in Hemu Village to savor a slow life, or take the Yunxiao Peak Cable Car to the top of the mountain (2,800 meters above sea level), where you can overlook the scenery of four countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, etc.
As night falls, the most lively bonfire party in the village begins. Everyone gathers around the fire, and the DJ’s music and dances infect everyone present—allowing you to "dance in the middle of the mountains".
Later at night, when most people are asleep and the village is quiet, we will arrange a starry sky photography class. Hemu has one of the purest night skies in China. Our guide or invited expert will instruct you on how to set up your camera on-site to capture the bright Milky Way and star trails, preserving this sky full of stars forever.
Day 5: Hemu Village (Full-Day Free Activity)
Meals: Breakfast
Attractions: Hemu Village
Spend the whole day enjoying free activities in Hemu Village. You can choose to wander around the village and explore this quiet village at your own pace: climb the 哈登 Viewing Platform (Haden Viewing Platform) to overlook the panoramic view of Hemu Village; walk in the birch forest and listen to the rustle of snow sliding off the branches. Or join the paid horse riding tour—our cooperative local horse team provides safe horse riding experiences. Led by a guide, ride through the snow-covered forests and plains; this magnificent scene is just like the Northern Lands in Game of Thrones, offering an excellent opportunity to take epic photos.
Guests' Privileges:
- To save your waiting time, we provide VIP access for self-driving entry to Zhaosu Wetland Scenic Area—no need to take the shuttle bus.
- To help you enjoy the scenery better, we arrange accommodation in characteristic wooden cabins within the scenic area, allowing you to experience the life of the Tuva people.
Day 6: Hemu → Altay → Jiangjun Mountain Ski Resort
Meals: Breakfast
Attractions: Jiangjun Mountain Ski Resort
Admire the Hemu morning mist—the most beautiful moment in Hemu. In the early morning, thin mist and curling smoke wrap around the village and mountains; when the sun rises, the whole village is like a dreamy fairyland. Our driver will plan the departure time in advance to ensure you can capture this most beautiful scene.
Then head to Altay to experience skiing at the professional Jiangjun Mountain Ski Resort. Known as the "Cradle of Human Skiing", Altay has world-class powder snow resources. The ski resort is well-equipped with more than 40 ski runs, with a total length of dozens of kilometers, meeting the needs of beginners, family tourists, and professional skiers. Skiing here is a dialogue with history.
In the evening, enjoy an energetic "dance party" on the snow at the ski resort, accompanied by music and a brilliant sunset. This is a unique way to celebrate, drawing a crazy and happy end to your skiing day.
Day 7: Altay → Devil’s Town → Karamay
Meals: Breakfast
Attractions: World Devil’s Town
Depart from Altay and visit the World Devil’s Town. In winter, the yardang landforms, set off by snow, appear even more desolate and magnificent. Strong winds whistle through the strangely shaped boulders like ghosts’ voices—a shocking force of nature.
We have prepared the most romantic part of this trip for you: spread a carpet on the vast snowfield, serve you hot tea, snacks, and fruits, and let you quietly admire the magnificent sunset on the horizon. This will be an unforgettable quiet moment for you.
Stay in Karamay, the "Oil City", at night.
Day 8: Karamay → Sayram Lake
Meals: Breakfast, Afternoon Tea
Attractions: Sayram Lake
Depart from Karamay and explore the ice surface of Sayram Lake throughout the day. Lunch can be enjoyed independently at the entrance of Sayram Lake Scenic Area—our guide will be happy to assist. Upon arrival at the scenic area, there is no need to queue for tickets; we will book tickets online in advance to reduce your waiting time.
Known as "the Last Tear of the Atlantic Ocean", Sayram Lake becomes a kingdom of blue ice in winter. The vast lake surface freezes into a crystal-clear sapphire, with ice bubbles, ice cracks, and ice flowers everywhere, forming a surreal fantasy world. You can slide and explore freely on the ice and take countless amazing photos.
Stay in a hotel at the entrance of the scenic area at night.
Guests' Privileges:
- Aerial photography service is provided here, allowing you to take photos with Sayram Lake from a different perspective as a souvenir.
- Afternoon tea (including pastries and coffee) is prepared for you by the lake—you can rest and enjoy it in a warm sightseeing tent.
Day 9: Sayram Lake → Urumqi
Meals: Breakfast
Attractions: Sayram Lake, Urumqi International Grand Bazaar
Wake up early to admire the sunrise over Sayram Lake. If the weather is clear, the morning sun will dye the sky red and make the blue ice more magnificent and colorful—an unmissable moment for photography enthusiasts.
Then return to Urumqi and visit the International Grand Bazaar. In this largest market in Xinjiang, you can buy the most authentic dried fruits, silk scarves, and handicrafts, and select unique gifts for your family and friends.
